Agent Locator

Press F9 or click on the Agent Locator button to display the Western Union – Find Agent Location web site.

Agent Referral

Press F8 or click on the Agent Referral button in the Tools Menu to open this screen. Use the Tab key to move through the fields and the arrow keys or space bar to select an option, or use your mouse to click on the options Click on Submit or press Alt-S to do the search. Click on Reset or press Alt-R to clear all fields. Click on Cancel or press Esc to return to the Tools Menu. The information is displayed. Use the scroll bars to view all the locations listed. Click on New Search or press Alt-N to do a new search. Click on More or press Alt-M to search for more locations with the same criteria. Click on Print or press Alt-P to print the information listed. Click on Cancel or press Esc to return to the Tools Menu.

Transaction Log

To access the Transaction Log, press F9 or click the Transaction Log button on the Tools Menu. To view the history of a transaction, select the View Transaction option and the Date Range. Press Enter or click on the Next button to proceed. If the Currency Selection screens pops up (for multi-currency configurations), please select the appropriate currency and click on the OK button. Press Esc or click Cancel to return to the Tools Menu. The Transaction Log List is displayed: Use the arrow keys to highlight a transfer and press Enter or click the Select button to view it. You may also double click on the transfer to view it. Press Alt-P or click the Print button to Print a transfer. Press Alt-E or click the Export to File button to export the information. Press Esc or click the Transaction Log button to return to the Transaction Log screen.

Country Information

Select a country from the list to view the Country information. Press Enter or click OK button to return to the Tools Menu.

Currency Conversion

Converts money amounts from one kind of currency to another. To move through the fields use the tab key and select the country and currency desired. Type the amount to convert and press the Enter key or click the OK button. Press Alt-C or click the Clear button to clear the fields. Press Esc or click on the cancel button to return to the ToolsMenu.

Customer Service Inquiry

The Customer Service Screen is used to locate both paid and unpaid money transfers. The system retains unpaid transfers for 45 days before removing from the system. Paid transfers are retained for four days following payment. This mode is used for locating and viewing only. Money transfers cannot be paid out from this screen.

Tools

You may access the Tools Menu by pressing F4 on your keyboard or clicking on the Tools (F4) button found in the navigation column on the left side of the application window. The following screen appears when you activate the Tools Menu.

Main Menu

Toolbar Click the Help button or press the F1 key to launch the Translink application Help File. Click the Menu button or press the F2 key to return to the Main Menu from other screens. QuickCash Service

The Western Union Quick Cash service is a global cash disbursement service. By using the service, any subscribed organization can quickly send money to its members, employees, or customers by entering transactions directly into the Western Union Translink software application for the Quick Cash service. After the information is entered in the system, the organization’s members, employees, or customers can simply go to any participating Western Union Agent location , complete a yellow "To Receive Money " form, and pick up their money. Many Agent locations are conveniently open seven days a week and some offer extended hours. The Translink application offers improved technology and includes automated modules, which speeds the transaction process, and minimizes errors in the data entry process. Agent Config Report Screen

REPORTS Transaction Log – Enables the printing of transaction log or exporting of transaction log. Reconciliation – Enables the printing of reconciliation reports. Activity Report – Enables the printing of activity reports. Check Log – Enables the printing of check log. Agent Locater – Enables the printing of agent locations. Report naming convention : The naming convention of the reports provides the classification of the report usage in the MT software. It contains five (5) descriptions. The report name starts with the service in which it can be used (Send, Pay, Quick Pay, Activity Report, etc). Next you will find the paper size needed for the report (8x16, 8x11 ½, A4, etc) and then the initials of the recommended printer type to use the report (Dot Matrix, Laser Jet, Ink Jet, etc.). Agent Config Tools Screen

The settings selected in this screen customize the software to meet additional needs of the Agent, and determines what options are displayed to the user: ENABLE OPTIONS   Customer Service Inquiry – This function allows the operator to view transactions for customer service. Currency Conversion – Enables the option to perform currency conversions. Country Information – Enables the option to view Country Information. Agent Config Communication Screen – Dial Up

This option will allow the user to automate the software connection when using PPP/TCP connection methods (ISP, TCP/IP through X.25/X.28 providers etc) DIALUP INFO Rank – indicates the order in which numbers will be tried for dialup. Dial Up Name – This is the name given in Windows network connection to the dial up entry. Phone # - This is the forced telephone number for the connection in case it is different from the number in the network connection entry. User ID – This is the forced user ID in case it is different from the user in the network connection entry. Password – This is a forced password in case it is different from the password in the network connection entry. Retries – The number of times the connection is attempted before trying the next ranked route. The process will be repeated until a connection is made. Agent Config Communication Screen - IP

CONNECTION POINTS URL / IP – With URL setting, user can specify the URL link to connect to the Host / With IP setting, user can specify the Communication IP and port to connect to the Host IP Address : The IP address of the TANDEM is entered here, e.g. 128.26.28.3. Port – This is the application end-point in TCP. Application programs use known port numbers to offer their services. Retries - The number of times the connection is attempted before trying the next ranked route. The process will be repeated until a connection is made. TCP/IP Order – Waiting for Viveks comments. Clear - Use this option to reset current IP Address and Port. It will clean up all the IPS and Ports leaving them blank to be re-entered.

Agent Config Communication Screen - Async

This configuration screen provides the ability to configure the package to use an asynchronous connection using the X.25/X.28 protocol as data transport media. Modem Settings Use Window Settings – Allows the modem to use default Windows settings to communicate. Bits per Second (Baud) - The speed in which the modem transmits data, i.e. the number of bits per second that the modem can send to another modem. The software allows the following baudrates: 1200, 2400, 9600, 14400, 19200, 28800, 38400, and 57600. The software is usually configured at a Baud Rate of 9600; this will depend on the connection carrier. Dial Prefix - This is the number that the Agent uses to dial out from its location , for example 0. By default, this field is left with a value of a “,” (comma for nodial prefix). Agent Config WU Card Customer Information Screen

This tab is used to set up Western Union Card  customer information for the Translink Western  Union Card enrollment Customer Information – When checked, the “Customer Information” Tab will be available for the Translink Western Union  Card enrollment when Enroll optionis selected from the Main Menu. Real Time Enrollment – with No Transaction – This is the Enroll option from the Main Menu. This option enables the user to enroll a new Western Union Card customer  using the additional information fields (must have the correct template in the Agent’s template database). Real Time Enrollment – with Send Transaction – This option allows the user to enroll a new Western Union Card customer through a Send Money transaction using the additional information fields (must have the correct template in the Agent’s template database).

Agent Config Databases Screen

This tab is intended to provide paths/ user names and passwords for the Translink application to use. This is to be independent of the ODBC settings of Windows. The database should be stored in C:\Program Files\Western Union\Universal-Release by default.

Agent Config Trans Log Screen

Transaction Log File Back Up Transaction Log Frequency –Select the frequency to back-up the transaction log: Bi-Monthly, Bi-Weekly, Monthly, and Weekly. Purge Period – This option sets the amount of months that the transfer will be stored in the Transaction Log. Enable Transaction Log Backup – This option generates a backup of the Transaction Log. Enable Purge – This option allows the old transaction logs to be purged.

Agent Config Remote Screen

This feature enables the money transfer with a mechanism for requesting services or exchange data with a remote server at the Agent location . REMOTE SERVICES Host IP address - The IP address of themachine running the authorization server. It can be any machine on the network. Host Name – This is not a required field at this time. Host Port - The port number where the client will try to connect to the authorization server. This is defined on the server side in the Rserver.ini file by the field PortNum . The port number specified in the server's Rserver.ini file for the server and the mom.cfg for the client must agree. Host (Local/Remote) – This is not a required field at this time. Service Type –This field allows the user to select the ini file the client will use to generate its transactions. The default will usually be RServer.ini for DOS compatibility. Agent Config Taxes Screen

Taxes tab enables agents to add tax to a send or pay amount. This option is utilized by certain countries that need to tax their transactions for government regulations. The Agent is responsible for populating the fields to set up the tax; this is not configured by Western Union . EXAMPLE: The IVA tax that Agents have to collect in South America. The system will then automatically calculate this amount based on the principal or charges. Tax Name - Name of the tax to apply. Rate % - Tax percentage to be charged to the transfer. This value can go from 0.00 to 99.99. Taxeable Item - If this option is blank then nothing is being charged, otherwise you could choose from apply tax to: CHARGES, CHARGES + PRINCIPAL, PRINCIPAL. In the pay taxes section you can only use PRINCIPAL. No Rounding – When checked, the specified Tax will be truncated, otherwise, the specified Tax will be rounded if required. This option is intended for configuring corresponding web addresses for the options outlined below: Agent Locator Address – This is the URL to access the online “Agent Locator Database” on the web. Agent Check Administration – This option is not enabled now and is added for future expansion.

Agent Config Rating Screen

Ignore Global Rating - By default, this is checked for international agents, so the Quick PaySM rate is based on the local rate table. It should be left unchecked for US agents.  Quick Pay View Option All - Show all companies. Country - Allows the user to sort companies or subscribers by country. Rating Option Local – Enable local database to determine the charges (For version 5.451 and above, this option is disabled permanently). Host – Enable WU Host to determine the charges. The Validate button will appear on the Send screen before Submit is enabled. Host Real Time – After the principal amount is entered or changed, the fee will be automatically populated. Agent Config Services Screen

Agent Config Agent Screen

Terminal ID  - The Terminal ID is assigned by  Western Union  and is a unique ID for each Agent’s PC. Each Terminal ID is linked to a corresponding account. The Terminal ID is passed through the sign-on to the host. It is the validation that the host looks for, in addition to the Password, Operator ID and security file to ensure proper system sign-on. Multiple Currency  - If it is unchecked, a single currency is configured. If it is checked, multiple currency’s can be configured. ISO Code  – Is the two-character ISO (International Organization for Standardization) country code. Use the 2-character ISO code for the Agent’s country. Example United Kingdom is “GB”.

Getting Started Western Union Translink Configuration

What is the Agent Config? The Western Union Translink Software configuration is accomplished using the AGENT CONFIG program, which is located in the same directory as the Western Union Translink Software Application for the Microsoft Windows Operating System.
